Every song you hear from Skye Williams has a history that began long before today’s AI tools existed. We are Sue Hart and James Shattuck, songwriters and musicians who wrote, arranged, and recorded these songs throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Some were originally released on vinyl records, cassette tapes, and CDs.

For years, these songs lived on aging LPs, cassette tapes, and CDs, stored away in dusty boxes in the garage. We never imagined they would one day find a new audience. Today’s AI tools didn’t write those songs—they helped us restore them, reimagine their presentation, and finally share them with the world.

Every lyric, melody, chord progression, and performance began with us decades before these modern tools existed.
We used these AI tools much like a producer/partner in the recording studio—not to write our songs or define our artistic identity, but to help restore, refine, and present music we had created decades earlier. Every creative decision remained ours. We directed the process from beginning to end, using these tools to help bring our vision to life.

The same philosophy guided the visual side of this project. We created Skye Williams, a fictional performer inspired by Sue Hart’s appearance, stage presence, and personality during her younger performing years. Modern image and video tools allowed us to tell stories visually in ways we simply could never have afforded before.

We believe the most meaningful use of technology is not to replace human creativity, but to amplify it. Without today’s tools, many of these songs might still be sitting on old LPs, cassette tapes, and CDs waiting to be heard again.
Instead, they now have a second life.

Sometimes the future doesn’t replace the past…
